Five Ways – Sep 21

September 9, 2021

The 52nd International Eucharistic Congress is now taking place in Budapest, Hungary. Pope Francis will travel there for the concluding Mass on Sept. 12 and then stay in Central Europe for a few days. Older Christians can remember when the Soviet Union controlled Hungary and no religious exercise was allowed. Let us thank God for this freedom of religion.

Also, the Congress began with a sermon by a Russian Orthodox archbishop, the first time a non-Catholic has been allowed to do this. May the relationship between the Eastern Orthodox Churches and the Roman Catholic Church continue to improve. See the two links below for more on this grace filled event. Many thanks to Fr. Dan Nassaney, O.M.I. for sending me these links.

I appreciate all who responded to the Aug. 22 Five Ways. Let us pray especially for all those involved in Religious Education as our youngsters begin the school year.

Fr. Harry Winter, O.M.I.
