Our Oblate superior general, Father Louie Lougen, originally from Buffalo, NY, has been in the room next to me here in Tewksbury since October as he prepares for a very extensive diverticulitis operation on March 30. He wrote an inspiring article (see link below) concerning the way the Vatican Congregation for the
Evangelization of People trusts the Oblates and all our Associates. Many thanks to each of you for being a vital part of the ministry he describes. Please keep him in your prayers as March 30 approaches.
Many thanks to all who responded to the March 4 e-letter. Pope Francis’ visit to Iraq continues to have positive results. Let us continue to thank God for all his
pilgrimage has accomplished.
As we wind down the final days of Lent, may we remember that many non-Christians watch and wonder about what Holy Week and Easter mean. Even if we cannot give
them a full explanation, may our actions cause them to see the death and resurrection of Jesus as the hope of the world, as a compelling reason to open their hearts to the love of Jesus and His Body, the Church.
In Christ’s love,
Fr. Harry Winter, O.M.I.
